Schloss Gardens, Schwietzegen, Germany

posted Thu, 06/23/05

Ok not quite sure if I spelt the town name correctly. LOL But I decided to get out for the day today! It was tooo beautiful to stay indoors. So I grabbed my eldest son and his girlfriend and we went on a bit of a jaunt. We came across these fabulous gardens. This place was HUGE! We only managed to cover about half of the gardens.  The entrance fee was a bit steep 4.00 euro a piece but I think it was worth it. This place was very nice manicured. It was sooo green. Loads of trees, shade, benchs, and arbors. Also lots of places you could lose yourself in. We even managed to stumble across a german couple doing some serious necking in a maze! GRIN We packed a lunch and sat and ate it inside the park while we fed scraps of our bread to the local duck population. My son even got a female duck to take it right out of his hand. The sun was shining, the sky a robins egg blue and not a cloud to be seen.  We managed to spend a few hours here. I am going to have to come back and finish my tour. The cost for the whole day was not too bad. 12 euro for park entrance, 3 euro for parking, and 9 euro for ice creams afterwards. LOL By the time we all got back to my car we were hot, tired and sweaty. I can tell you that I was really looking forward to switching on the ac in there! That is about the ONLY place here that has AC! We were so hot that we drove home the long wayyyyy so we could all stay in the car longer! LOL
